Position Summary: The Site-Based Program Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment of adult volunteers for Kinship Partners’ school-based Lunch Buddies mentoring program and pairing them with a child to form a positive relationship throughout the school year. This person also facilitates the on-site activities in ISD 181 elementary schools.

Essential Functions:

Engages in strategic volunteer recruitment efforts to locate and increase Lunch Buddies pairings of adult mentors and children using a variety of methods and communication media

Works with school staff to identify children who would benefit from an adult role model relationship

Interviews mentor candidates for the program and pairs adults with children after a thorough background check, orientation and training are completed

Plans and executes social activities and crafts for Brainerd-area Lunch Buddies participants

Develops working relationships with community leaders, agencies, and organizations in the community and maintains awareness of community resources

Develops relationships with local businesses to secure financial sponsors and volunteers

Assists, as needed, with Kinship Partners fundraising events

Minimum associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree in education or a human service field desired. Good writing/communication and organizational skills, as well as comfort with sales, training and recruitment are required. Must have an outgoing personality and be able to work well with kids and adults alike.

Part-time position, 24 hours per week, Flexible Schedule.
