Camp Program Director

Position Overview:
This year-round role is responsible for staff recruitment, training and oversight, focusing on programs staff (Cabin, Activities, Overnight Staff, Division Leaders). The role assists the Camp Lincoln Director in implementing the vision set by the Executive Director of the Camps. The role must carry out all staffing needs throughout the year, including the administrative support of the application process and onboarding. The role will be involved in program management, including the delivery and documentation of required training, maintaining safety and assisting staff in whatever needs they may have.
Duties & Responsibilities:

* Responsible for year-round recruiting, culminating in the proper staffing of the camps when in session
* Coordinate/conduct all camp interviewing
* Create & manage employment agreements
* Source through most effective ads/postings
* Conduct reference checks/backgrounds when necessary (coordinate w/ Corp HR)
* Understand & maintain annualized budget
* Responsible for collecting new hire paperwork, orientation & training, housing assignments
* Partner with camp director on hiring & rehiring decisions
* Coordinate recruitment needs with international employment agencies
* Manage staff positions and the staff budget with an eye on operational efficiency
* On-boarding of Teams
* Coordinate staff arrivals/travel
* Collaborate with agencies
* Assist in operational planning/preparation of Camp
* Determine scheduling and calendars for pre-camp & once camp is in session
* Actively participate in educational training opportunities (offered through American Camp Association, etc.)
* Serve as liaison to outside trainers
* Conduct training, as needed
Camp Session Responsibilities
* Oversee staff & be resource for them (serving as “in-between” Camp Directors and staff)
* Directly supervisor leadership & cabin staff
* Plan, update, and oversee summer staff Orientation and Development.
* Coordinate travel/trips/store supply runs
* Handle staff separations (coordinate with Corporate HR)
* Manage & maintain cabins
* Manage store by ensuring inventory is maintained
* Oversee ordering and supplies for kitchen
Off-season Responsibilities
* Gather and summarize staff feedback throughout the summer and fall.
* Collect & share feedback with year-round staff
* Serve as liaison with winter office team
* Facilities & Grounds (coordinate special projects & coordinate upkeep)
* Staffing (collaborate w/ staffing professionals)
* Marketing (Develop strategies through use of marketing products and branding)
* Programming (assess staffing needs/skills, maintain equipment & supplies)
Other duties may be assigned
Job Requirements:
* MUST multi-task efficiently and in an organized manner
* Collaborative approach is required
* Dedication to Camp and its Mission
* Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and ability to work flexible hours
* The position requires the ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally, stand, walk (6-7 hours at a time), and climb stairs, reach & bend.
* Excellent writing/verbal skills
Education & Experience
* Degree in related field or two (2) – three (3) years equivalent experience
* Camp experience (as participant or staff member) extremely helpful
* HR experience helpful, with emphasis on recruiting/employment
* Microsoft Office experience required (Excel proficiency highly preferred)
* Knowledge of CampMinder and ADP is helpful
