Join us in celebrating Hockey Day Minnesota being hosted in Brainerd in 2027 at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) at the Wheelie Bar! Wearing hockey gear isn't required but everyone will enjoy an evening of high-energy networking, mouthwatering appetizers (catered by Side Track), refreshing beverages (full cash bar), exciting prize drawings, and unbeatable business connections. PLUS Hockey Day MN will showcase the project site.

Meet the Hosts

Brainerd Hockey Day Minnesota has been selected to host in January 2027! This will be a celebration of our community's deep hockey roots, vibrant spirit, and scenic beauty. This landmark event will bring together fans of all ages for a week-long festival at Brainerd International Raceway, featuring youth, high school, college, and professional hockey. Their mission is to honor the legacy of hockey in our region, inspire the next generation of players, and strengthen community pride while generating lasting economic impact and unforgettable experiences. With all net proceeds dedicated to expanding local youth hockey programs, Hockey Day 2027 will leave a powerful legacy and solidify the Brained Lakes Area as a year-round destination and a true home in the State of Hockey. 

Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) originated in 1968 when DonnyBrooke Speedway first appeared in a clearing in the northwoods with a 3 mile road course through the trees on the south side of North Long Lake. Overtime it has gained momentum with attracting well-known drivers, national level events, attracting a wide spectrum of racing disciplines. Thousands of fans flock to the facility each season drawn by the roar of the engines, tight-knit racing community, and the unmistakable energy that defines race weekends at BIR. Ever evolving, BIR stands as a rare-blend of heritage and evolution. From humble beginnings in the woods to its growth into a multi-discipline motorsports campus, it has helped shape racing history in the Upper Midwest and beyond. It remains a place where stories begin, traditions continue, and the love of motorsports is shared across generations.
