This class will include exercises that encompass both internal and physical refinement. Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) emphasizes the balance of Yin and Yang in life, which are the two types of energy that make up all things in the world and universe. Yin represents something passive and spiritual, reflected in the internal refinement exercises and meditations. Yang represents something physical and active, reflected in the physical refinement exercises and movements. These movements are all inclusive, and can be performed while standing, sitting, or laying down. The movements are gentle, intentional, and slow, helping you to ground yourself and become one with the energy around and within you. Qi translates to energy, breath, or vitality, and gong translates to practice, work, or cultivate, so by practicing qigong you are cultivating and transforming the energy within your body.
