
Credit Union Board Associate Director

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our Credit Union Board as an Associate Director. Qualifications We're Looking For:
• Passion for Community: A strong desire to support the financial well-being of individuals and families.
• Leadership Experience: Previous experience in business, finance, nonprofit, or other governance roles is a plus.
• Financial Literacy: Understanding financial principles, budgeting, or risk management is beneficial.
• Commitment to Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and ensuring transparency in decisions.
• Diversity of Experience: We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to strengthen our team.
• Self-driven: Is curious, takes initiative with research, and seeks out unfamiliar information on various topics (mentors are also available for assistance)
• Collaborative: Partnering with others in group decision-making, appropriately challenging each other, and being united in the end
• Consensus: Able to arrive at a conclusion, even when a decision was made where the group decided differently
• Technologically adept: Basic level technology usage, devices, and accepting of technological innovations into the future
• Group dynamics and teamwork: Enjoys being part of a group for information sharing and conversations about issues where alignment is desired
Your Responsibilities:
• The board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (usually 5pm-7pm), in person. You will also attend the annual meeting of the membership.
• If you are not currently a member of MCCU, you will need to become a member prior to joining the board
• 2-year term required
• The associates are active members of the board with similar responsibilities as a full director, but no voting rights
• Maintain strict confidentiality of credit union business.
• Understand and support the vision, mission, and core values of the credit union and philosophy and functions of the credit union movement.

• This is a volunteer position; however, we do pay a stipend of $500 per month, anticipating that the candidate dedicates approximately 10 hours per month to board work.
